Projects

Have you ever asked what the difference between a Project Engineer and a Project Manager is?

At HCS we believe that a good Project Engineer is a qualified professional that can follow a defined project framework to achieve a deliverable.

A Project Manager questions, challanges and understands the 'considerations' around every aspect of the decision-making process to ensure:

1. Deliverables are FIT-FOR-PURPOSE

2. Minimise WASTE and maximise SAVINGS

3. Ensure LONGEVITY

4. Do it ONCE, do it RIGHT

5. Must be SAFE!

Product Yard Remediation
($12.5M project)
A complex project initially valued at $49M with extensive operational and corporate impact. Redesigned and executed effectively for under $9m without incident.

Construction
HCS can help you draft, plan, execute any complex construction activity.

HCS can even deliver the required works as the contract owner.

Road development

Multiple road projects from:

1. The rehabilitation of 18km of bitumen road.

2. Design and build of unsurfaced mine roads and haul roads.

Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Facility
($25M project)
Develop user requirements, define project outcomes, develop a fit-for-purpose design that meet the allocated budget constraints.
Administration Facility
The design and delivery of several administration facilities. This included double story buildings through to complex amenities and site supervisory/control facilities.
Site Support Infrastructure
The siting, design and delivery of site support infrastructure to align with strategic objectives. Fit-for-purpose and cost effectiveness are the principle drivers in the successful delivery of support projects.

Command and Control
The development of site specific outcomes and requirements to meet corporate strategic command and control objectives. The implementation and delivery of advanced audio and visual systems to provide complete site over watch on operation by day and night.
Tailings Dams, Water Management and Turkey Nests
The development of complex site requirements, engineering analysis, designs and operational assessments for a variety of operational site dams.
Turbine Engine Maintenance Facility - Greenfield Design
The design of an greenfield advanced, smart, and highly secure aviation engine maintenance facility. Included the development of complex operational requirements aligned with a variety of stakeholders from the Australian Defence Force, United States Department of Defence and several Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM). This $65m construction project designed on an aggressive schedule in order to meet global operational requirements.

In addition to the standard challenges associated with a large under roof (18,500 m2) facility, this building further addressed the requirements of being located next to an airfield runway, noise and acoustic management, national security guidelines, intellectual property protection, physical separation of commercial activities, management of classified materials, multi-national operations, complex fire modelling, advanced environmental controls and lighting and energy inefficient systems.

The project further assisted in the development of highly effective work flow analysis to demonstrate maximum operational effectiveness and reduction in operational waste.
This building when commissioned is expected to represents the most advanced turbine engine maintenance facility in the southern hemisphere and a significant capability in the Australian Defence Industry delivering services globally.
